At Envision Unlimited, we understand the importance of ongoing professional development for dedicated individuals who work on the front lines for people with disabilities. We continuously invest in opportunities, so we can ensure that we provide the highest quality care and services. That includes training the next generation of staff.
We offer internships through our mental health, art therapy and community day programs for students pursuing graduate and undergraduate degrees as well as those in certificate programs. Accepted individuals will receive hands-on experience at one of our eight community day centers or our Ravenswood Center, the hub of our mental health services. Daily tasks will vary, depending on students’ coursework, but can include case management services, clinical group work, focus groups, staff training and community art therapy.
I spent my first-year internship helping on the developmental disability side of the organization with the sex education program. It was such a positive experience that I chose to stay with Envision Unlimited this year to work in outpatient therapy on the Mental Health side. In both experiences, I've enjoyed working with members and clients the most. But I've also been very happy with the support and encouragement I've received from staff across the agency. I've learned a great deal. – Katie Feyh, clinical social work intern
