Similar to foster care, the Envision Unlimited Host Family Program pairs eligible Envision Unlimited adult members* with intellectual/developmental disabilities (IDD) with host families so members may live in the community in a private home and enjoy choice, independence, inclusion and community involvement.
Envision Unlimited provides host families with:
- Ongoing training
- A monthly stipend
- An average of 20 hours of respite care per month, per member
- Two weeks of paid vacation
- 24-hour on-call support
- Medication and medical management oversight
What host families can expect:
- Members are enrolled in a day or work option during the week.
- The preferences of both the member and host family are taken into consideration when pairing a member with a host family.
- Envision Unlimited staff will visit several times per month to ensure a successful placement.
Requirements:
- No more than two members, and a total of six people, may live in the home.
- Each home must be licensed prior to a host family placement.
- Families must have a vehicle to accommodate the needs of the member.
