Tim Smith -Volunteer of the Year

Tim Smith Awarded Volunteer of the Year Honor

Our Volunteer of the Year Award was presented to Tim Smith, chief corporate counsel for CME Group. Due to the pandemic, the event was held outdoors—coincidentally, at our Westtown Center, where Tim has volunteered for several years as a Biking Buddy. He also ended his 3,000-mile virtual bike tour across the country last year there to raise money for people with disabilities.

"I’m not one for a lot of fanfare. I’d prefer that the focus is on the members, so being out on the 606 and celebrating this award while at the same time kicking off the Westtown Games was perfect," Tim reflected. "And it was extra special that my friends at Westtown planned it themselves."

"Tim deeply cares about improving the quality of life for those with disabilities, and it shows. He has high-quality interactions with our members and makes them feel special," said CEO Mark McHugh. "He even involves his family and his fraternity in Envision activities. Tim's support and volunteerism bring so much value to our members and our organization. We are deeply grateful for all he's done for us."

"It was humbling to receive the Volunteer of the Year award this year," Tim said. "It’s obviously been a very challenging past year. Although we weren’t able to ride the tandem bikes, we found other, socially distanced ways to stay connected with the members, especially my biking buddy, Matthew, and support Envision’s mission."
